can i dismantle all the bits at my end because it will make life 10 times easier for me. will only have to get 1 veichle to you that way.
i remeber you saying that cost would be kept down providing you could break the lex and get some money back that way. so is this majrly going to affect the cost of doing the conversion if i just send down the parts and not the rest of the car??
also how much do you want exactly to do the conversion?
a price with the car and a price without the car would be nice mate.

that way i can weigh up all my options as its going to cost a fair bit getting bits over to you!
also will or can you spray any parts of the V8 so it looks like new? hehe

You haven't let me down at all Jay.Just sorry i can't get the price any lower than i quoted you.If you can get it cheaper on one of the sites mentioned then go for it as whatever you save will come in handy for you.

It would be best if I had the whole car here, mainly to hear it running and to check for any items that would be re-newing (Timing belt, distributor caps etc) ECU codes that have been logged. blah, blah.

It's just as easy for me to strip off any saleable parts and put them in the back of your Surf to take back with you when it's finished.

Every vehicle leaves my garage looking much better than it did when it arrived, even under the bonnet!

as i scrolled the page down and i saw your "good evening" reply i laughed...hard! dont know why but it really made me giggle!

as for breaking the lex afterwards i was thinking if you wanted (?) you could keep it and break it yourself and if you could, try and work out roughtly how much you might get for all the spare parts etc and then take deduct half of it off what you want to do the conversion?
e.g. if you think you can get £500 with all the left over parts, take £250 off the conversion price?
if that makes sense?
i had a look at the lex on the weekend and its a good'n. engine looks mint. MOT was just left to run out. has been sitting un-used for 4 years. jup started it and started first time. still uses original battery! lol
she sounds VERY smooth indeed! purred like a kitten.
also if its not too much hassle can you quickly post up some pics of your engine for me to see mate.
i was going to ask where you got some of you coloured hoses and bling etc etc so i can buy some and sned it down to you with the surf.

If it's been sitting doing nothing for four years then it ouldn't have started very easily as the injectors would have gummed up after a couple of months. Plus the brake discs would be so rusty and the fluid would have absorbed enough moisture to feck up the calipers, it probably wouldn't move/stop.
You can get a taxed and MOT'd Lexus for that money, then all you need is the fuel to get it here and a lift/ train home.
Then drive your truck a couple of miles down the road, disable it and get it recovered to my house a week later.

and mate......do you really think im going to spend lots of money and time getting everything over to WALES......only to not pay you and leave my surf stranded almost 300 miles away!!?? i dont think so! lol
i have the money. if you like we can pop down a cash machine and i can show you my bank balance?! lol

also the Lex started perfectly. my mate had driven it briefly a few days ago and said it seemed fine. (admitidly he only drove it from one end on his yard to the other but it still strted and stopped fine)

i personally thought it was a very sound engine. is it not worth me taking it out for a test drive to see how well she drives then??
do you reckon you can find a lex over your way for the same money then mate? coz ive been looking for ages and they all seem to be going for atleast £800!

we got my lexus about 4 weeks ago for £625, From a guy in cornwall, there is cheap ones out there just keep an eye on the auctions on ebay some go for well below that. however keep an eye on the miles its done some have well over 200K

i will have another look.
there was one on ebay which sold for in the end of £350. it also had a LPG system installed on it which i was going to sell on to recover the money. but i actually chose to cancel my offer for the one my mate had shown me. it cost more money but i was convinced the engine was sound. plus its down the road and the otherone was an hour away in Bognor and didnt drive.

thanks for taking the time to look mate. however that one is in Norwich! thats the opposite direction to where im trying to get to! i dont fancy doing a grand tour of southern England in order to do this conversion! lol
also the speedo doesnt work and i really want to use the lexus speedo in the surf.
and is a 1990 lex v8 ok? thought 91-93 was ideal?
