  • Brake pads!!!

About to buy some and looking at roughtrax "V" Milners, milners are £14 a set,
roughtrax are £29.99 (toyota parts?) or £16 aftermarket! which should i get? i know common sence dictates "go for the best" but as there's a big difference pricewise and i dont do much mileage and dont cane it, would the cheaper ones be that bad? how much better can the dearer set be for the money? any experience with aftermarket pads? plus with the cheaper ones i could also get the fixings kit as well!! rods and spring clips etc,
    your views please

I had Milner's ones on mine from just after getting it until a week or so since. They were fine. Only reason I changed them is 'cos the fluid was dropping, so I erred on the side of caution. They still had some time left on them though, I was told.

Go for the Milners or the after market ones, they will all perform the same and the difference in wear won't be noticeable in a million years!!!

      Cheers, Nick

I use EBC green stuff pads a bit more exspensive but last a lot longer especially if your off roading.

I think there will be a difference, cheap pads are rarely the same quality as expensive ones. But each to their own.

              Buy cheap=buy often.

Plus cheap pads create more dust that sticks to your alloys, which is not good for alloys.

Not in all cases. Cheaper doesn't always mean poorer quality.

Conversely though, you could also say that pads which create less dust aren't as good for general, normal driving style, usage. The brake pad debate has as many twists and turns as a twisty thing.
