Ok so what i need is a tester? i dont have one But back to the front wires again

Then straight back to the back again. Check the backend out. Until you know what you have there, there's no use ripping things apart at the front. You need to know whether the original setup is there and working or whether that mess of wiring is a bypass of some sort.
As to how you test the motor, it has two connections. Make sure you disconnect the motor from the existing wiring before going any further. Also make sure that you use a fuse inline in one of the jumper wires you make for testing the motor and connect one wire to battery pos and the other to battery neg. The motor should spin one way. Reverse the connections and it should spin in the opposite direction.

Sod the front end wiring and get stuck into the back. Check everything in that area is working as it should and then backtrace from there.

Matt u know me, unless its spelt out in Chris terms, am flaming lost. how do a test the motor, i read that u can touch it straight to the battery. how does this work out. Ok went back out to it today, found a broken wire and touched it to another wire, i hear a clicking in the back now, but only when i first touch the two wires, try the switch and nothing, nilt hee haw not even a click???? suggestions.

We went to GlenTarkie the other weekend, cracking place so it was. Missed a cracking laugh. Had boys down from up north or summit, 3 or 4 hours away, they loved it, then they came to drumclog last weekend too, well keen. Need to get you out and play again soon

It looks as though the pcb in the rear( the one you paradoxically can't get to if the window won't lower) has been bypassed. Seen this before. It's a bit dodgy chris, cos the motor effort tries to keep the window going till you bust it. Best thing , according to some on here is set fire to it....

Set fire to the back window, al try it, dunno if it will work though

But where is the blown fuse located specifically? In the fusebox behind the kickpanel in the footwell, or is the fuseholder an inline type which has been added for something else?

Have you checked the control unit for the rear window?

The blown fuse is located, drivers side behind kickpannel. not in the fusebox, its been an inline one thats been added.

This was all in the drivers footwell matt, it had been added when the spaghetti junction was put in Probably.

Yup, read all about that Mark, Took rear panneling off looking for broken wires etc, only broken wire was from the key switch on the rear which i sorted. All that happens is a click when i turn the key now, no movement in the window or motor. From the front there was a bust 20amp fuse, all those wires, i started following all those wires and ended up in my centre consol with a few bare wires, hence the reason i think the fuse blew. on the centre consol there are two fog light switches that aint even workin so am well lost, its too much for me, ad rather take it all out and do it again

Nope, no-one,nothing,nilto, oh come on, at least show me how to re-wire a new switch for the bleeding thing
