  • 4x4 specialist

    hi
does anyone know of a surf machanic out there, i heard there was a surf specialist in basingstoke but his number is now unobtainable. i have now employed more mechanics than toyota and not one can get my 4x4 working.
it is a 3.0TD (kn130). I am told ihat it works as far as the transfer box but will not engage front wheels.

      Was it working OK before?
What work was done on the truck to cause the problem?
      Is the truck standard?
Do you have manual locking front hubs fitted?
Is the green 4wd light on the dash illuminated when the 4wd button on the transfer lever is pressed?

Sounds like a vacuum problem then or the pipes haven't been connected/reconnected to the front diff..
When you press the button on the side of the transfer lever, do you hear a clunk?

will check with machanic tomorrow. Or is it possible to get a number of someone who could speak to my mechanic.
