Computer genius wanted

My computer seems to have a mind of its own. I have adverts on alibaba.com
I can get on the site, but when try to log in, page does not come up. I can do it on my wifes laptop. Also now can not get on qype.co.uk. It was OK few
days ago, but now can not get on that site even if i switch off my antivirus.
Last thing is my computer will not let me change my home page!
I have put the alibabasite and qype site as safe sites, so don't know what else to do.

Simple troubleshooting in order...

What did you do a few days ago?
Clear the IE cache - clear all cookies, history etc.
Download a different browser too - Firefox or similar and try the same pages
Check other sites that have cached information and dynamics pages (if you use iGoogle that's a useful way to check)
