I do agree really, the 3rd gen doors for instance feel very light compared to the 2nd gen.
    funny that
cause my Mrs keeps slamming her door shut when she gets in, and I keep saying "easy".
Shes probably used to the 2nd gen doors
    me. I didnt really notice

Have you checked, I am interested in the measurment???.

          Thanks.

when you find the 2wd button on colorado - let me know!

or should i just go and remove front prop

            - my Colorado fulltime 4wd,
            transfer lever = H, HL, N, LL

i thought 3rd gen surfs also had a 2wd option?

agreed, Colorado has tinny doors compared to what my 4runner has like, it felt more solid.

the engine sound proofing better on Colorado though, but i didnt mind hearing the grunt of the engine on the 4runner

I run my 3rd Gen in two wheel drive most of the time. only use 4WD when off road or the weather is bad.

                Thanks.

Having had both gens I agree 3rd has more room.
Just a thought you do know that both gens allow the rear seats to recline in three positions. Gives a feeling of a bit more room for larger rear pasengers
