  • Auto Door Locking (over certain speed)

    Hi,

Just wanted to know what one would call this feature? When you go over a cerrtain speed, the doors automatically lock. I had it in my Golf and it was very useful.

Was wondering if I could find an aftermarket one or get one from a scrapped car. Not sure how much is involved so any comments welcome!

i would think it should be able to be done ok.
It might be connected to the speedo somehow and then to the central locking.
This is how the transits operated when i worked for networkrail 4 months ago

Tried searching/asking on a Golf forum for wiring diagrams of the central locking system?

Thats Golf cars not the game by the way.

It's called an "elbow" when you notice the speed is at the desired point you move it over the top of your door pin and bring it down.

What makes it useful? I always thought it was pointless, but I may be missing something.

yeah it seems mine is faulty though, no matter what speed I set it to, it just does it's own thing whenever it wants!

Mines got that also, when I get to the required cruising speed I rest my hand on the door console and click all the four doors lock.

I used to live in a country where it was mad to drive around with your doors unlocked. So the security conscious part of me would love this 'lazyness' feature!

So you're referring to the anti car-jacking system?
