Sounds great Vince I was thinking along these lines but around here getting any kind of land you can build on is near impossible from what I've been told.
Heard really good things about these and their durability as long as they're looked after.

Had a look inside one at the NEC recently, and we were very impressed!
Prices start at around 45k for a complete two/three bed house, land is around £1000 per acre in Pembrokshire at the moment.
Sell up, buy some land, at least four or five acres, to use as either caravan storage (good income per annum) or as an all year round self catering log cabin business, what you think?
As for Branching out into various buisness opportunities...why Knot give it a go, so long as you can Preserve your sanity along the Root.

I built one of these three years ago. I have no real building experience but me and my dad built one on three days.
The truck turned up full of lengths of beautify cut wood, a wooden mallet, four Windows and some roofing felt. Now I love to build ikea furniture and I'm good at it, so the first thing I did was to set the parts out in sections as per the instructions. Each length fits to each other when banged in with the mallet. You do not use screws or nails as the building has to settle over about a month. The windows slot in once the walls are waist high.
It was so much fun and really quite easy if you take your time and read everything. We built a three room home with a balcony at the front at a cost of 6k. It would cost a lot more to pay someone to build it for you.
I have wanted to buy some land and build one for ages. The wood is stunning and smells great too. Go for it....
BudI told the butcher I'd give him £25 if he got the meat down off the top shelf. He said he couldn't. The steaks were too high.

Hi BW
Sounds brilliant!
Not sure if this will help but we've just got together with a group of friends and bought a field in Anglesey with planning for ten "caravans". There is a definition for "caravan" I won't bore you with but basically we are looking to put 22'x44' twin units on for our own holiday home use and we looked at very many different manufacturers. Now if you go for the non mobile type it may not apply, but have a look at www.oakgrovecabins.co.uk who are far superior to all the others IMHO. In fact, Colin the UK distributor lives down your way I think. If you go for the non chassis type it may not apply.
If you go down the route of self catering lets I may be able to offer bits of useful info based on our experiences so far.
Anyway, ATB with it...
Cheers
Simon
PS We have 3 plots remaining which we will be leasing on 999 year lease if anyone is interested - cheaper off plan (LOL, got to throw a bit of marketing in!)Cheers
