  • cars broke!

    went to a track lastnight and the car started making a banging/clicking noise when in 4 wheel drive, but only when going up hills and the front wheels loose all mdrive, then if i stop and try again they start working for a couple of feet and start clicking again? someone help me, tell me whats rong and whos got one please lol

    Could be the front diff, they are the weakest part of the Surf's drivetrain.

      Drain the oil and look for metal bits.

                    whats the sas one then? i need a hole new front axle with calipers,hubs,shaft the lot. so whos the best person to talk to on here.?

                      have a front axle and leaves from a mk3 truck not sure on the ratio tho?

                          You will need the front axle from a hilux and the matching rear diff , i went for leaf springs at the front and it is the easier and cheaper method but it could be done with coil springs as the outrageousoffroad hilux was done

                            turns out the diff is fooked, the wheel bearing was on there way out anyway, and one of my calipers are siezed badly so figured i might aswell get the whole axle and gubbins with it. so do i not need a 4runner one? excuse my ignorance i havnt been into 4x4's for long and dont know what works and what doesnt

                              do a search about solid axle swaps .... there are some good links here and on yotatec and the austrailian site , also

                              www.outrageousoffroad (who did mine ) and la supertrux
