Hey andy, just booked mine I'm at stevo's for a mew head. I get a genuine modified new head, and genuine head bolts and gasket. New timing belt and Toyota coolant all comes with a 12 month guarantee....

£1050 fitted... I'm well impressed.

update from me to lol,genuine amc head,rebuilt cams etc,genuine gaskets(every single one),water pump,gen cam belt,tensioner,pulley,gen stat,rad cap,oil filter,came to 995

Hi Ross, yep unfortunately so. Thing is the rest of it is dead nice.really nice interior,drives really well. At least if the head is done, anything else is piddling. It's just to good to scrap IMHO

ty,dont get me wrong,stevo was tempting,but i wanted everything genuine,puttin about 7/8 grand into the bodywork

Your doing it the right way for you, at the very least you will know what was done and replaced, and that equels peace of mind, i can do alot of my own work on my Surf, but would not attempt a head change, just do not have the knowledge and skill, i cannot wait to see the finished product, keep up the good work and keep the pics coming,

you can buy my 3.0lt if you want mate. its had a new head from Rich put in it recently too. the head never had anything wrong with it.....it just got swapped over as it needed a new home.
got a 4" lift too and it drives very well.
no MOT or tax though but you can have it as a donor car if you want? would cost you less than a grand but not much less.

Thats right the head was pressure tested and totally rebuilt with new valves etc wasn't it by the cornwall engine company.I was gonna keep it for a spare for mine but if it has to be sold it has to be sold

not too sure ill have to check it again. its got the rancho's 9000 on the rears
the front is just torsion lifted it think? (driveshafts are at a harsh angle)
its had a 2" body lift too. cant even remeber if its got manual hubs or not? lol
