Seriously, If I sold mine I'd return it to stock and expect around £1000 - £1200 for it. That's with a new (stevo)head, new water pump, new rad, new hoses, new balljoints etc etc..

it will get there to stubborn to be beaten, going to try and recover some money off the turnip, been on to trading standards and if i get it to garage and they say damage not my fault (i can prove not speeding sat nav recorded trip log which also records speed)then i can pursue it with small claims court and go for compensation as well be happy if they just offer to pay for turbo and rad which really suspect has crack in it but i can see lots of piggys flying past wont hold my breath

Go for it lady. I had a 2.4 and before stormforce took her away and ....gulp...killed her... (only joking rich) she was my pride and joy. Glad to see your remaining up beat about it.

Sorry to hear about your problems, but as you bought it from a garage you should realistically get your money back, or at least some of it.
Now I see everyone is being really nice to you because you are a "girlie" or a bird ( Bibs) so I,m also going to be nice and give you some of these. They will help make your posts easier to read.

It sounds dirt cheap(?) so some prob or other would/should be expected? Spose it partly also depends what he said was or wasn't wrong with it.
Turbo and rad sounds like quite cheap fixes if you can DIY though.

Why thankyou. Just what I needed.
It was a private sale that is whats so annoying. But the nice people at Trading Standards gave some good advice. Will try to keep my punctuation and spelling in line maybe I will get an A+

Good luck. Sure you'll sort it.

I have a brand new 2.4 rad here from the new breaker. It was fitted for about 3 miles then the garage realised it was the head that had gone and not the rad.I will do the rad for £95 delivered as its still as new

If the truck needs another head then Lee (supersurf) has a 2.4 head for sale aswell

Well, hat tipped to your resolve. Hope you have some success with both recouping from the seller and getting the Surf sorted. That type of stubborness/enthusiasm definitely helps in getting the the Surf's in working order again.
