Nothing much to go wrong with a turbo, it's just an impellor thats spun by exhaust gasses.
dont tempt me on the v8 well go on then and payback will happen slowly painfully and i can sit all smugin the knowledge he is useless and about to screw his new disco the same as he has the surf so watch out for cheap disco in grimbsy
Sorry to hear your story - it happened exactly like that to me too.. All I can say is try your utmost to get your money back and buy one that hasn't been messed with. Mine ended up costing me another £1000 + 100's of hours to get all sorted and on the road properly. It's really not worth the hassle if you can get your money back.
even spending another £1000would still bring the price to half that of a forecourt but probably why im smiling he paid lots for it broke it sold it to me cheap we are like bob the builder we can fix it so long can get hammer in
If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay him for it? Personally, I'd side with Wishbone on this. Seems silly paying for what is, mechanically, a wreck that you're going to have to rebuild. You can get some good ones for practically dirt cheap prices.
