I'll leave it open just now and see how it goes. Blocking a few IPs may be all it takes to stop it after all!

Going for the articles I've found useful first - got the rear window motor one up now http://www.monthofsaturdays.net/surf...w_Motor_Refurb

Like throw the first litre directly into the waste tray by forgetting to put the plug back in? Nah, I can manage that fine myself!

I've put the wikipedia software there now, so anyone can edit and put articles up there.

Apache kindly let me use one or two of his past posts as the basis for tutorials, but I'll be writing up anything I do and putting it on there too. If anyone else has a howto here and wouldn't mind me duplicating it there give me a shout.

Even if it doesn't take off, I thought it might be a decent starting place for a list of tutorials - 'how do I put roof bars on', 'how do I fit spots', 'how do I remove the rear heating matrix' etc. And if nothing else it's a useful place for me to leave things for myself

                  Here's the link: http://www.monthofsaturdays.net/surf

Have a look, edit away and feel free to create new articles. There's a full list of the few things already on there (click "special pages" on the left side). You can create a new article by changing the name of the page in the address bar, then clicking 'edit'. Feel free to dump stuff there and I'll tidy it up.
i think that this need to be a Sticky or adding a tab for it on the home page maybe

There's something therapeutic about English place names. Click here & press refresh a few times - my first php project still lives

Just realised that his site was www.showmesome.info - hadn't put 2 and 2 together.

Anyway a whois on that domain shows the following (this is public domain, so shouldn't be any problem posting it here)

And a little more info - 'The wayback machine' archives popular sites, and it got his before it went: here. Click on the most recent version and you're back in his site as it was in early 2008.

I reckon Matt's comment is fair play, that it's fine to copy the articles off there in his absence, so long as we don't mind deleting them if he ever requests that.

I've got too much on to make much of a stab at it just now, but please feel free to copy and paste info off there onto my site - a bad job is better than none, and can be tidied up later very easily.

That address that Andy posted above is what is listed as the address of the showmesome.info sites owner in the whois records. It could be an old or business address or suchlike if it doesn't seem familiar though.

How did you manage to lose a cap which can't be lost, btw?

You're a star. I'd never even thought to check the archiver.
