        No, it's essentially a 2nd gen with a 3rd gen body/chassis sort of thing...

The L/C Prado is basically a 3rd gen with a different body.

The Landcruiser would probably cost more just because it's a Landcruiser.

That was my original understanding too. There may be a minor fault with mine beceause Ive tried all that and it will only engage in neutral. I can still be moving, but unless I shift the stick to neutral, it doesnt work. I had basically accepted that my original understanding was flawed and this is how its going to be and given it no further thought Maybe its something I should try to look at someday

An LC 80 would be the vehicle to have if youre dong any serious offraoding, however thy're not very attractive, and way overpriced

if its been on tarmac for ages it will be unwilling to engage 4wd, mine does this, so i have to reverse a couple of feet or if moveing then shift main lever into neutral then back to drive while the button has been depressed and the little green lights are flashing. after its been 'sticky' once then it engages fine everytime, until Sally gets it back and its spent a few weeks back on the tarmac.

cannt wait to see you in a lifted/sorted 3 gen
