I had one of them, I think I called it a classic capri then. But you are probably right.

I wish I was one of them Jay Leno type people. i.e. rich.

I would have a Huge garage full of cars like that.

My favorite is the Citroen DS 'shark eye'

I've sent the link to my friend. He is looking at 70's Camero's and was going to look at a mustang Mach 1 but his love is Capri's. Probably a little underpowered for him though.

Forest arches are probably the worst thing about those MK1 escorts. Everyone who I have ever spoken to in regards to the mk1 (i.e. at shows) laughs at forest arches.
In honesty, I prefer the mk2 escort out of the two. I've always wanted a snoop nose RS2000, but can't see it as an every day car. Too small, I'd be too woried about damaging it and I don't like the Pinto engine. I'm 25 in 9 months. Will probably end up selling both Surfs and either getting an R32 Skyline or 90's Mustang LX - If I havn't jumped ship by then.

How can you mention old fast fords in the same breath as a 90s Mustang!? They're horrible cars! Yes, I have driven one, only a V6 but as slow as a Surf!Nothing like their illustrious forefathers.

This "friend" I've been mentioning had an imported 1992 Mustang LX. The only mods on it were the ford GT-40 air intake, Stainless tubular headers and dual 2.5" exhausts and finally a reworked LSD for a lower ratio.
This thing was rapid. It apparently did 14 seconds 1/4 flat. Which was the same as my fiesta I've mentioned before, but I bet that time was down to not having much traction. This thing lit up everywhere. It started raining once and it stepped out sideways just driving normally.

If I were to buy one, it would have to be the 5.0 as was his. The general power to weight ratio of the V6 is'nt very good in comparison to a straight 6 or V8
