Totally agree dude. Expensive, overrated & underpowered. Especially the mk4 gti's. Possibly with exception of the 3.2 v6 which was ridiculously overpriced.

a mates nuts on them, he's had mk1's(crap), mk2 8v and 16v's the latter are like guided missiles when you floor them if there lowered properly, 2 vr6's changed the lump in one for him as it had been ragged to death by last owner, didn't realise how small the V is its only 15 degrees, the lump isn't much wider than a normal 4 cylinder, will agree with overpriced though even on the 2nd hand market

Hey guysturg1 i have respect for the earlier golf gti's ie; pre 97 because they where all about bringing performance to the masses. After that VW lost the head all together & started asking silly money for cars that had less power, were lesser specced & simply slower than jap (VTEC!!!), french equivalents.

he is but slowly converting him to 4x4, he's gone as far as a subaru legacy at the min, but he's looking bigger now, just trying to get him to get a surf!!
