  • Poohmobile no.1

Has now gone to the surf heaven down the road and i had to watch it being ripped apart by the crane. One grab and the body just come away from the chasis and emptied all the contents over the floor and then one more grab to take the chassis away.
I should of got a pic for you G but it was just so moving i couldn't put you through that

Thats very considerate rich,i will now lead us all in a small prayer of thanks for the poomobile mk1

I drove it up a mountain,i drove it on a road
to me it was the finest.... like royal doulton or spode,
i worked in it ,i slept in it, it never let me down
even when i parked it,in stuff that was smelly and brown.
it was always there at my beck and call, never "one of those useless things"
with raw sewage in the engine bay and used condoms in the springs.
and loads of shoite just everywhere, and a dashboard stuck with glue.
and always everyday, all the time,a vague aroma off poo.
But poomobile mk2 is here, to convey me round the town
and with a little love and care,i hope she wont let me down
but just to make her feel at home, and maybe help things run real good.
excuse me im pulling me trollies down and dumping on the hood.

(please note ,no surfs were shat on during this eulogy)
    Non intercooled nothing.

This has brought a tear to my eye, all those times I've woken at 5am to see the rear of it next to my tent, the times I've seen it perched precariously atop a rutted lane, the stench as it passed by....

All those lovely memories - that touching moment when Graham and Finkelstein nearly kissed on the plains, and the gentleness of the wipe down with a damp cloth.....

It's no good, I have to stop, the memories are too much and I'm about to cry....

Too old to care, young enough to remember

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Caravans on fire off the hard shoulder of the M27. I watched Shoguns glitter in the dark near the Plain. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die.
            it's in me shed, mate.

All this nostalga over a surf!!! how would you feel if it was a B-29 you'd spent a couple of million trying to recover, been transferring some old "horizon" documentrys over to dvd and one of em was about this bomber,
it crash landed in greenland dureing WW11, it was a good landing only damageing the props and bomb doors, the crew was rescued ok but the plane was left there as it'd cost too much to recover, been there ever since, this bloke (yank) spent 2-3 years flying in parts and engineers to make it airworthy with a view to flying it out, one bloke died in the process of overwork and cold, four brand new Pratt & Whitney radial engines were fitted along with new props etc, finally got her running ok and taxi'd out for takeoff on the runway they built and the f##ker caught fire!!!! total write off! poor buggers was gutted (and prob skint) amazing story, the plane looked like new after spending all those years in the ice, real shame, i love those planes, B-17's B29's etc, lovely design,
