i meant what does he mean by this.............. They also seem to be a little behind our thinking on resolution of the typical overheating problems and modifications to engine, suspensions etc. But HEY..... we all have to learn somehow right?!?

To be fair though they certainly have come up with most of the good mods such as the larger exhaust - more power plus faster heat removal from the head.

I think this is basically cos they have a much more challenging environment out there, they've been getting the Surfs a lot longer than we have, plus they all seem to be completely mad when it comes to off road expeditions - they don't do a couple of hours of greenlaning, they go off into the bush for a couple of weeks, camping gear, fridge and Barbi at the ready. That really tests a machine.

All credit where it is due, off roading in Aus is serious stuff, we can only do short term technical stuff, they do technical stuff day in day out in heat that you wouldn't believe, humidity that would kill you and surrounded by flies / mosquitos / snakes / crocs etc the size of small countries.

Just send Randal G a PM so, he should have the know on their "resolution of the typical overheating problems and modifications to engine, suspensions etc". Modify your engine???? He's a dab hand at filters anyway like meself

he means Toyota's answer of getting imports banned and buring their heads in the ozzie sand!

only joking, the ozzie site I hang around on the answer is usually a bigger motor and SAS swaps! of which I approve!!
