Thanks folks for your help on removing and fitting aerial and stereo!It was a lucky straight swap on the wiring for the stereo but now the aerial is dead but worked just before I swapped them!Any ideas??and NO I did not use the search button for this answer so do not ask or chastise me!!!!!!

As far as I know there should be a wire on the loom that activates the electric arial (up/down).

On mine it was well labelled and a light blue colour.

You probably need to manually join the wires as I don't think that it is part of the "plug" fitting on the loom.

Perhaps someone with more sparky knowledge can advise better!

Thanks mate but it was'nt a blue wire, I just needed to change the loom for the one supplied even though they were identical to each other!!

What you need to do is find the search button........... Just kidding.
I recently changed my stereo and the aerial wire was in one of the multi plugs( the big one)
