I am sending this from my Laptop, which is the only electrical device that wasn't plugged in a couple of hours ago when I f***ed about with the electrics!!!!!
I wired my whole house which I also built, so I am OK around electrics.
Tonight I inadvertantly sent 3 phases around the 230v supply.

Last count I lost.....Boiler, Fridge/freezer, microwave, 2 computers and screens, washing machine , tumble dryer, dishwasher, telephone system, T.V.'s Air conditioning. Basically anything that was plugged in and contains a Circuit board.

just wanted to share it with you.
I feel better now.
Tomorrow will be an expensive day.

How did you send 3 phases down 2 cables?

how odd,we are having new fuse boards at work,the sparky did same thing today,the toll so far,2 complete computers,2 other screens,isdn connection box(blown up),2 fax machines,2 photocopiers,electric gates,9 security cameras,plus atleat 3 circuits not working now,i left the boss chain smoking when i left today lol

I'm really sorry but , must have been the way the post was worded.

Sounds like that was nasty though, I assume the insurance won't cover it, good luck hope it works out for you in the end shame about the expence though.

its not possible to send 3 phase down a 240 wired system.
You probably mean you sent a phase (240 volts) down the neutral

same as me,it was the smell,was like fireworks going off round building,and omg the smell,poor sparky wasnt impressed when my first response was to get bbq sauce from canteen and hand it to him

The wife just got home, she's real happy.

The kids were saying they could smell burning. I was doing a John Cleese, which really helped.
