Heres how I set my Alan Excel multi to UK

    Switch off unit
Turn back on while pressing "NK" button
Rotate channel knob untill UK appears in the top right of the display
Then fix by pressing the "LOCK" button

Hope this makes sense and helps.

Just bin it and go licence free UHF. Seen some nice mobile sets on eBay. More than half the trucks on the Spain trip had them (though they were erroneously referring to them as VHF) and they work very well indeed over decent distances.

Seriously, don't worry about that. I've seen some kit that's been returned to their service Dept. in the past, and your idea of butchered will be mild in comparison to some of the stuff they have had returned and which they have still refunded or replaced.

Fixed this... The day before my Truck blew its head!

No idea what I was doing wrong, I think I may have been holding the button in for too long when I was turning the rig on.

              What button?!

Can someone tell me how to make mine scan continuously again? The manual is hopeless and I think I've tried just about every combined button press I can think of!

The AM/FM and Scan buttons. I was holding them on until the CB started up (takes a few seconds when the buttons are pressed), I think I only held them on briefly as I switched the radio the time it worked.

No idea about the scan thing, mine works.

Maybe try doing what I did and change to a different frequency, See if that re-sets everything? Change it back to the right frequency once you're done.

Or give Toby's mate Jan a call?
