  • Too Stupid for Words

Sometimes, like the title says, we (meaning I) do something that defies belief. Last night, while doing my right side ball joint spacer and new BJ i pulled out the split pin, got my spanner and tried to undo the nut. Wouldnt budge. So took my trusty lump hammer and bet the sh't out of it enough to break the spanner. Found another spanner to fit and tried again, but to no avail. Didnt break this one. Seeing as i had my 4 1/2" angle grinder beside me i decided to grid the bugger off, but couldnt get in right, so i took the shock off and got in so i could grind on half of the nut. Hit the nut a few times with a hammer and chisel and it started to move. Just then, i realised thet i had been turning the nut the wrong way and had been tightening it all along. Enough said

dont worry m8 your not theonly one to do something that stupid, i have been found swinging from a spanner under a lorry trying to undo something only to be told by the head fitter tthat it turns the other way (this is after he has sat there for 10 minutes taking the p out of me for being weak)

Way too easy to do when lying on your back and looking at the nut and bolt upside down.

I thought for a nasty minute you were going to say when you ground through the nut that it sprung down and hit your leg.
I think we have all been there though Mate.

I decided to clean my washable airfilter with petrol , it wasnt dry enough when I started the motor and the petrol fumes caused a backfire that split the turbo airhose and blew up the nearside headlamp glass... DOH!
