Rear wheel bearing replacement pics / link

Probably the title of the thread will give it away, but the truck has sufferered a failure out here in the pair-of-knees.

It is going to a spanish speaking garage on Monday, and I'd like a set of photos so I can better explain what needs to be done. I'm sure he'll know, but just incase the language barrier gets the better of us, pics would be useful!

A fast reply would be really really welcome!

have you got the spare wheel on the roof ? bad idea to much pressure on the rear, specially if you have the anti roll bars disconnected, jokes aside i have complete half shafts with bearings and back plates if you need them

We did just about everything we could think of before we left - less than a week in, oil dripping on the tyre...

One thing I will say though, there's a few landies on this trip, and they were prepared to stay with us and help fix the truck, thus missing part of the trip as well. A fantastic gesture, and one we wouldn't allow them to make.

Well we got moving again on Wednesday morning and had a 9 hour trip through winding mountain passes to catch the group up. We are now at Le Columbier for the last nights camp before heading back to the boat tomorrow.

The spanish mechanics really pulled out the stops and were working on the truck til 20:30 on Tuesday night (when they got the parts) to get us away on wednesday morning. Bought them a case of beer for that.

Cheers to Tony N for sending out a bearing as plan B incase the spaniards couln't get one. As it happens the bearing he sent is still there as 24hr delivery doesn't work to 'the back of beyond, Spain' and they got their hands on one anyway.

This trip will make driving up to Scotland feel like a trip to the shops for a paper! The mileages are huge, and the roads have been difficult at times (hairpin bends for 50 miles rising and falling to 5 or 6 thousand feet on the spanish end)

Mind you, the French motorways are excellent!
