we picked a hilux pickup with a rover V8 from essex. got halfway back and the thing started mis-firing and bogging down. pulled over and it just cut out.

i was following in a work van which had some mice and keyboards in the back.
i eventually found the problem (IN THE DARK) that the ingition advance on the distributor had shook loose and had retarded itself all the way and now wouldnt run. i didnt have a screw, but what i did do was tear up a keyboards for the chord, and tie the advance back on the dizzy.
made it all the way home with no more troubles
