i understand lord_lucan, may be your choice of words arn't perfect, but i cannot think of the right words to explain it to albannach.
imagine this, you try to drive down the road, and find you can't as easily as you used to because of 100 people who really do not know how to drive on british roads (example: 3 point turns, stopping dead in the road for no reason to name a few) as the local hall has been turned into a daily meeting place. or another example is customer service, the experience is a complete contrast than if being dealt by someone who has been brought up in england.
lasty, how about just going to the local shops, and finding most of the shops in foreign languages you cannot understand, and all these strange and wonderful foods, and the not so wonderful.

thats NOTHING!!! our local church cannot even ring its bells on sunday due to noise nuisance complaints!!!
Im fairly liberal when it comes to stuff like that, but I must confess to a certain discomfort with these big imposing in your face mosques. I dont know where the funding for these things comes from nowadays but the Saudis used to put up most of the dough for Europes big mosques, while at the same time denying Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, whatever, the right to worship in Saudi, and even the right to bring in personal bibles or whatever texts were associated with any other religions. Im a bit of a live and let live kind of a bloke. I think I would only give planning permission if I could get a reciprocal planning consent to build a church or a synagogue in Saudi.
I don't have an isue with Muslims, or anyone else for that matter. If it weren't for them I wouldn't be able to buy a newspaper at 5am and a beer, in the same shop, at 10pm.
It's fair enough to discuss stuff, but watch it doesn't get racist.

So, you only ever eat British food that's been traditionally cooked?
