is my head gone

hi can anyone tell me how to tell if my heads knackered,iv,e noticed that my water levels need topping up every other day, about half a litre of water, but the temp guage is staying at the normal level, once when i took off the expansion tank lid i saw some foam i felt it and it wasn,t oily,so can anyone help.
forgot to say since she started using water iv,e still been driving it each day just keeping my eye on the temp guage.thanks

From experience...once a cooling system overheads due to head or gasket failure, and its repaired the water pump usually follows...I guess the pump does not like being over pressurised ..the fault will reveal itself over time, just keep topping her up and keep and eye on the temp gauge

I would certainly go for the water pump myself.Also check all the pipes are ok and no splts at all.
Check the water pump after a longish trip and see if its leaking after while cooling down

The water pump will show water at the rear of the pully if its going
