Strange road tax

My Focus has a 1.6i engine and the tax per year is £150 (up from £145 last year)

Now, Mrs Slugs mum has a Ford StreetKa 1.6i the same engine apart from some funky variable valve doolally on mine.

so, why is her car tax £260 per year???... for a far lighter car, you'd think the tax would be cheaper if anything??

your car must be in tax band D
and the ka must be in the hight site of tax band f
tax bands are affected by aged size and co2
the ka is eather newer or classed has a sporty ka (if there is one)
