Having had my beloved Surf written off last december,I ended up buying a 2004 Mitsubishi L200 Warrior (against the advice of some of the members of this forum it has to be said). The main reason for purchasing a double cab pick up was for tax breaks, plus I needed a vehicle to transport materials such as sandstone, sand and cement etc.No Toyota hilux's were available at the time I needed to make the purchase so I ended up with one of these things. It beats me why so many people praise these heaps up,I have had nothing but bother with it since I got it!The local Mitsi dealer doesn't help, they gave me a 1 year warranty(??????)which I have now discovered cost £99.00!!!!I had to take the vehicle back to the dealers a month ago because it wasn't running properly and the engine management light came on,and stayed on.They diagnosed that it needed a new throttle valve, they ordered 1,but guess what? The "wrong part" arrived so they ended up fitting a second hand one as I needed to get back to work as I am self employed.A couple of days later the motor starts holding back again (whilst sitting at constant speeds).I phoned the dealer up and was told they would order the same new part again, but if it didn't cure the problem, they would charge me for it!!!!I have been told by someone else it might need hooked up to the diagnostics thingy for 2 hours to reset turbo settings etc etc.It is booked into the Mitsi dealers this friday, fair chance I'll end up out of pocket even though the vehicle is still under warranty

I would have thought they were not complying with their warantee by fitting 2nd hand parts, I'm sure the motor manufacturers assoceation and mitsi head office would just love to know(if they are a main stealer!)Did I mention I have a BLUE one

a garage i have had dealings with in pembroke had one of those things in last year it was making a rumbling noise at the front of the engine with an oil leak. in the end they took the engine out and stripped it. it had broke one bolt holding the main bearing cap at the front of the engine and there was a hairline crack across the front of the block.it was on 36000 miles and after talking to the local dealer there have been a few of them doing it. not good.

Problem solved, they had to perform an ECU overwrite and adjust the turbo waste gate(??)Got charged for this (£63).Running fine now.Good job I took advice from someone who knows about these vehicles before I took it in,or it could have bacame an "ongoing" problem if you get my drift.God I miss the Surf.Powered by ????

still dont see why you paid for a fix when the motor is under warranty.
main stealers are doing this all over the place, and its blamed on the recession, but why should we have to pay??
we need to fight to stop people and companies taking the mick out of honest working people!
plus, i would have got a toyota hilux D4D. immense power from those turbo'ed beatsOh Nana, what's my name?
