Andy the steering damper should just bolt in place where the original one does. There's no ball joint on the aftermarket ones like on the original

I wonder if procomp is an American product. I have bought a couple of really expensive, well engineered items of American radio equipment and found the instructions comprehensive but illegible. One was an aerial that cost $550 and the other a radio that cost $1300. It looks like they are still using the old roller duplicators and sit up and beg typewriters
Americans aren't known for their brilliant documentation.

OP: Where did you get this? I've been looking around and havent been able to get one myself, although I'm interested in one. Driving in the "lorry only lane" with my 33"'s makes the truck horrible to drive.

        Cheers!

I did have a look at that one stormy - but decided I needed to crack on this weekend and find out why the steering was a bit dodgy - Idler is off and seems ok, all the bushes seem ok... Ordered this from Paddock http://www.paddockspares.com/pp/NEW_...1_and_RRC.html - which is actually a Landy/Rangey site, was kinda hoping that the bracket set would be included - from what I had read on here the kits came with loads of different brackets :P My dum fault for not phoning them first...

Looks like some modifications needed - think i'll have a look and see if I can make this one fit somehow using some standard parts from something else - if not - I'll have to wait and order one from roughtrax.

The Procomp in the pictures at the top of this post seems to actually be the same tho- just with brackets....

i would get in touch with Paddock and find out about this one fitting the surf. The s/damper can be fitted at a later date as it should only take 30mins and the removal of the bashplate on the 3.0's

Emailed Paddock and ProComp today checking the expected kit contents and if it should fit a surf Will update when I know more - tho I am not expecting a speedy response! Although I do see an ES2000 damper fitted to a surf above or am I going mad? :S

As long as it states the damper will fit the surf then it should be ok but if it just says es 2000 then it could fit anything especially if you ordered from a landy specialist

Agreed I'm going to try and find out from ProComp if all the ES2000 actual damper parts are the same length - if they are then modifying the bracketing MIGHT make it fit - if not - it's just a learning exercise

I suspect it will be getting sent back tho the fact that it doesn't even have ProComp stickers on it makes me wonder exactly how kosher it is anyways TBH....

It fits like this, all the brackets should be in the box to fit.

                            I know!!

that's what I've been saying all along :P

I'll get hold of them today and see what is going on - I had just wondered if there were 2 different kits - one that contained brackets and one that didn't.

tony, where did you get yours?

Pro-comp UK, but they arn't around anymore.

The kit will always need brackets for most applications, its just a small shock with threads each end, they make the bracket to fit it to any make.

You need 220504 (single) or 220577 (dual shocks)
