  • problem with roughtrax +2" springs anyone?

my +2" rear coil springs arrived today from roughtrax, removed my old ones which are standard and were replaced less than 6 months ago and they are exactly the same size.

the advert states that one should be taller than the other, this is not the case either.

anyone have the correct measurements for what the +2's should be or anyone had this problem before?

i thought roughtrax were suppoesd to be very good?

Is it possible that the springs are stronger and are +2" when compressed to normal levels ?

Life is too important to take seriously !

u will actually find the standards are longer, but check the thickness of the springs, near double thickness, just fitted them to mine

yes they are thicker, although they are both the same lenght and the ad says one should be longer.

measure gap before fitting of 8 1/4" and after fitting the gap is the same.

odd, maybe boxed wrong or maybe my originals were wrong?

i am awaiting answer from barry @ roughtrax.

yep me too mate, first i got the springs in different colours so sent them back, then got two the same colour and one was bigger than other (all good) until i put them on,i put the bigger spring on drivers side, but the jeep now leans too the drivers side about 15mm so they sent new ones again and the same, the longer spring is weaker,im in europe at the min but when i get back i want them swapping for the right ones, i can not fault anything about rough trax mind apart from this, and they have been as nice as pie too, hopefully this spring problem is just a supplier problem because thay are good for us surf uses

spoke to barry today and one of my springs is wrong.

mine are both black and one is supposed to be taller.

very impressed with the service from barry at roughtrax though and regardless of problem i will def use again.
                      the backup is superb.

I got a new set from Barry about 4 weeks ago as one of my 5 yo Milners replacements snapped. Mine were also black. The difference in height beween the n/s & o/s was minimal (about 1cm) but there was a difference.
