It'll depend on how much you use your tools, I have used Silverline tools (or Snap-Off as I call them!) and there is a simple rule I follow; if it has moving parts then it's probably junk but if it's a solid item then it's great ie, their sockets are excellent but their ratchets are sh*te and their sandpaper is ace but their sanders are b****cks!!
The great thing about them is that their tools are all made in China and basically Silverline in the UK are just a distributor (I get them through qwikfast.co.uk) so they don't care what you do with it, they'll replace it anyway as long as you have registered it and have the receipt.
Super cheap spanners and sockets, lifetime warranty on hand tools and a replacement EVERY time although I've actually never broken any of their spanners and sockets and they are used a lot, even for things they shouldn't be used for!
If super cheap is not what you are looking for then Halfords professional is my choice as I have had a set for over 10 years and they have never failed me.I've got a plan and it's as hot as my pants!

I got a set of Richmond Metrinch sockets as a 21st birthday present (39 now!) and I still use em.
I'd love a nice big new set but they are ###### expensive if you can find them.
