drive shaft question

Hi,Surf is due m.o.t on thursday so I decided to have a quick look underneath and noticed an oil leak at the prop shaft in the middle of the car!So is this a major issue do ye think??ta much

If you have a jetwash, give it a good clean and have another look. See if you can see exactly where it's coming from, it may a seal that's perished, so would be better to see what's causing it, and get it fixed - may not be an MOT fail, but could be a mechanical fail on the way?

are we talking transfer case end or front or rear diff ends????.its normally just a flange seal that blows quite easy to replace,undo the prop,remove big nut from flange pull out old seal.clean mating faces up and pop in the new seal re fit flange and prop shaft.oh and top up oil level.

Ok thanks folks,I will give it to a mechanic to do as I only deal in timber and would not know what a transfer case was if it dropped on me!
