I drive around 100k per year ,I can not risk losing my licence
so I stick to the laws of the road including speeding.

There seems to be this atitude that laws and rules are for others
and do not apply to them in so many ways of life ?

Just my two pence worth .

A lot of dual carriageways coming into towns have reducing speed limits. It's to gradually slow the flow of traffic down so there's not an enormous bottleneck when you hit the 30 zone.

If you go over the Speed Limit and get nicked its your fault just get on with it I mean we all know what they are and if we take the risk and get caught well its Fair Play because I think if any of us were Traffic Cops I am sure we would be sneaky Alternatively get a Road Angel Detector I have and I am sure its more than paid for itself many times over.

Believe it or not vehicles can kill, especially when driven too quickly. Just like a loaded gun they are a lethal weapon and that's why we need a licence to drive one. How many times has some berk overtaken you like a bat out of hell only for you to catch up to them a little further down the road as they have been caught up in more traffic. So they have put there own and other road users safety at risk for nothing, have to say they boil my pi$$. How would any of the pro speeding lobby feel if one of the their loved ones was wiped out by a speeding vehicle. No we shouldn't fine those who abuse the safety of other road users we should ban them from driving. I'm sure that the thought of a 6 month automatic ban would make most think twice about putting there hoof down.

Like you said, here we go again.

I am not a pro-speeder by any stretch of the imagination, however it does constantly dissapoint me that the myopic view of "speed kills" is thrown up again. Innapropriate speed kills, poor driving kills, I agree that almost 100% of the time it is innapropriate to overtake on todays single-carriage roads, so I don't do it, the people I see do it are nearly always putting other people in immediate danger and I agree should probably have their licence taken away. However, not for doing 80mph in a 70mph zone.

Not wanting to start any fights....just my opinion.
