    he said that the kickdown cable moves with the accelerator cable and adjusts the drive pressure in the box, so if it isnt connected to the throttle it will be running at a constant set pressure and will burn the box out, he said that could be the problem but will know tomorrow for sure

      My kickdown is electronic, originally, (in the Lexus) a switch under the throttle pedal, but I've fitted a micro switch on the throttle body activated by the cable mechanism.

          well they rang me this morning and the verdict is




          the box is f@cked
          the drive plates are all burnt out , the seals are all leaking , the pump is kaput
          and the teeth on cogs are missing/broken

          basically he said they can repair it for about 250
          or i can buy a reconditioned one for 380+vat

                  thats probably the route im going, ive put my motox bike for sale to raise the cash to get it done, and the leftover money will pay for the paint for the respray
