bash plate should it stay or should it go

hi all i removed all the air/con from my surf didn't see the point in leaving it there as the rad would be caked in mud with the first outing .the question is do you recommend that i leave the bash plate on is there any thing under there that still needs protection

Mines been used as a skid before, when following certain others (don't really like to name the surf killer to much here) through ruts.
