  • Time to go???

QUOTE=nero279;549301]aye an the rest of us haven't come across any other head that fit's quite so neatly up our arses as that of a v6 owner[/QUOTE]

    What! I’m devastated now

I always thought that people here kind of liked me... sort of as the odd guy who champions the rare V6 Petrol Surfs.

Now I feel like clearing off and leaving you all to your stinky diesels

I have only ever met a couple of people on this forum, Toby (thanks for the tow-bar) and Hilux Bob, the original owner / importer of my V6 and who kindly let me check out his 80LC. Many thanks for your help & advice

Apologies if I have got on peoples nerves.

I planned to move on anyway..... to the Land Cruiser Forum as I want a 80 Series LC soon .... just can’t decide if I should buy a petrol 80LC or go for my first ever diesel engine vehicle in 30 years of driving.

I get the message so its
Mine WAS a 150 bhp V6 and ran on PETROL

Don't take it to heart matey an leave. God there'd be no one here if we all did that. People just speak their mind thats all.

If it's not true why worry about it?

How can I be lost when I've got no where to go

Sorry that you feel that you must depart ....... personaly i would have taken the comment and got my own back (after all revenge is a dish best served cold ) ,

If you go for a LC don't discount the diesel too quickly.

      Good luck old bean

Its just a poke, he may have ment or not, it dosn't matter, you don't have to like everyone here (or even anyone, look at Matt... ) don't go cos of that.

We need some one to blindly stick up for the V6 Surfs, Seriously, its a lovely smooth motor, and sounds great, and you'll still never get as much $hit as 2.4 owners......

        I soooo want a 3.4 V6 petrol 3rd gen, just after V8 4th Gen.... etc...

What he said. If you slate the 2.4s consistently (without even owning one), you're going to get it back with interest at some point. I wouldn't bother spitting the dummy over that.

Ok I’ll stay (it is nice to know that not everyone hates me)

I’ll try and think a little more before writing my posts and I won’t pick on 2.4’s anymore. It is true that I have never owned a 2.4 but I have driven them around Africa a fair bit (mainly in pick up guise).

When I bought my Surf it was an impulse buy. I’d seen Surfs / 4-Runners around and knew that I liked the look of them, but I didn’t know much about them really. I spotted my Surf on Auto trader, called at the garage on the way home and 30 mins later it was mine.

This time next year I want to be driving an 80 series Land Cruiser. But this time around I am doing my research and have decided that I want an auto with cruise control, leather seats and AC. I’m open minded regarding petrol or diesel, 12/24 valve, UK or import, 5/7 seats and colour (white, grey, black, dark blue, green but not maroon).

I already have a good Idea of the extras I want to fit: ARB front winch bumper/bull-bar, winch, ARB rear bumpers to hold a pair of spare wheels, roof rack, roof tent, snorkel, up-rated suspension and various expedition equipment..... and when I finally get another person established to cover me at work (probably late 2010-11 the way things are going) I’ll set off on a few overland trips.

dont be arsed at nero...he is actually a nice bloke, but not afraid to show his inner self, (and he puts on a mean barbecue)

besides the 2.4 "poking" is taken (in this users eyes at least) with a lrge pinch of salt..........now remove your cranium from your perianal atrium

and go get some petrol....you must be running low !!

The tank was filled at the weekend..... I really don’t do that many miles as I try and off-set my carbon footprint with this for my daily commute.

A 2009 2 speed S-type titanium Brompton, worth more than the surf

If I want some fun I always have this as well

A low mileage (52K) restored 1991 MX5 limited Edition #166 of 250. I bought it last October and have only done 500 miles since (its on a classic policy)..... only comes out on sunny weekends.
