Blocked fuel filter or tank breather. Try taking the fuel cap off, see if that helps.

i have taken the filter out of the equation by conecting the pipes together from each side. the line between the filter and pump was pressurised as if the pump isn't letting the fuel through after its primed b the hand pump

Why would it? If you pump the primer pump against a dead head, of course it'll pressurise.

Did you try the cap off? Did you run it for a wee while with one of the pipes cracked? What, if anything, did you do to the truck just before it stopped working?

cap off made no difference. and well after ive primed the pump and tried to start it surely the ump should take that primed presure away by letting the fuel presure to the injectors? it had just pulled away gently out the drive then wham it all stopped n and the dash lights all came on. im sorry bout all the missng letters but my keyboards batteris are getting low

How long have you had the filter by-passed? There may be a wee filter where the fuel line goes into the pump (below the banjo bolt), check that.

And you didn't say you'd tried to start it after priming and the pipe was still presurised, you merely said it was presurised after priming. I give advice or comment on information given.

sory i was not mocking your advice, i am very thankfull. i just forgot to mention that bit. i started work at 4am and havent had any sleep yet. i only bypassed the fuel filter just now to eliminate it from the problem. the little filter i have filtted near the pump is clean. if i pull the pipe from the pump fuel pours from this pipe freely

When did you fit the in-line filter? Air may be getting in there, that line will be below atmospheric pressure when the engine is running, the filter may not be suitable for pressures that low?

The pump filter may be choked.

Also, try cracking one of the injector pipes and actually running the truck for a few minutes.

the filter has been fitted for bout 3/4 year now. the engine wont run for me to try that just turns over and over with no fuel, occasionally a little spurts out the cracked pipe but not what should be coming out.

                      You said here it ran?

The in-line filter may still be problematic, particularly if it's one of thos nasty wee plastic things.

Also check the internal pump filter.

                      And what is code 9?

code 9 was the speedo pickup, i fixed that a few months ago just didnt realise the code had even been stored, after i touched the throttle and she cut out again i cant get it to start since. i now have no filters attached its just straight to the tank but no joy still

I'm running out of ideas then, is there fuel in the tank? Don't believe the gauge.

yer only just put 30 litres in 15 miles ago and if you shake it u can hear the splooshing of fuel. i can only fink of the fuel solenoid myself. supposed to be going on holiday saturday so really need to get me head under that bonnet tommorow now

I'd have thought that solenoid would show up a fault code? Also, you did say there was fuel at the injectors.

Anyway, I'm done. I can't think of anything else just now. A grown up will come along soon to help some more...
