              I see what u mean, I never considered that 2nd gens with rear suspended wheel carriers had the reversing lights in that position, my surf has the red lenses in that location, so how do they operate, if at all? are they just surplus to requirements then and only utilised as reversing lights if a real wheel carrier is fitted?

                              well i would say the lights you have were originally fitted to a surf with rear wheel carrier, and would have been reversing lights ?or you have a surf that has been changed to have the spare wheel underneath and tailgate changed?
