I was under the impression that 4wd high (the button on the small selector) could be selected/deselected on the move at anything up to 40-50mph ish? and you have to come to a complete stop to select 4wd low (moving the lever itself?)

Same impression as me - maybe just the manual boxes though

right just to clear this mess up,you can engage and disengage 4wd on the move up to around 40mph,in auto or manual, but if you want to select high and low ranges you must stop first.

You can engage 4wd via the button on the ratio lever at speed (within reason!), but you should only engage low4 from standstill.

<edit> I really must read the whole thread before I reply.

Did somebody mention my name ?????? I'd have posted earlier but I've been away for the weekend.

Jon, Welcome to the asylum - just remember that some of the guys in white coats are inmates !

I'm in Anna Fields, on the other side of the Salisbury Road from the Hexagon Stores - you might see our Surf around but it's most likely to have the boss in it (Unless the BWSOW is attached)

Sorry if I'm being thick, but what does BWSOW mean?

                              Cheers,

                              Jon.

                                White
                                Shed
                                On

I'll keep my eye's open - but you may see my other half driving past your place on her way to Stephen's Ark on the odd weekend
