Nige, I don't speak Japanese and it's probably irrelevant, but how did you get 2004 for that sticker, how do you know it's to do with the cambelt and how, in fact, did you read 80,500 off it. It looks like random stuff to me (apart from km). Assuming it is the cambelt, which seems likely, I wonder why it was changer early.
Anyway, almost all of these trucks are dodgy when they leave Japan and it was probably clocked there. It wouldn't worry me too much to be honest, but it's your choice of course.

I think that the surf was probably garaged and well looked after throughout it's lifetime. The bodywork is mint it's just the fact that it's clocked that freaked me.

There is plenty of good honest trucks about for less than what you paid for that one.
Im sure next time you will be on high alert & going over it with a fine tooth comb to make sure its 100%.
