If the vehicle has been clocked, what else have they done? I have a mint 1997 with 80,000 on the clock, but the cambelt was changed prior to delivery with the mileage sitting at 49,000 milesnot at a higher mileage. Very suspect.

That's probably my problem. I don't know if I will keep it long and in the back of my mind is 'will I be able to get my money back if I sell on'.

from all the answers here it looks like it's probably worth about 4000 pounds tops.

I'll attach the pic of the cambelt change sticker which dates back to july 2004 + plus of the clock now...

as other people have said 5k is way over the top as there are so many 3rd gens to choose from, i paid less than 2k for mine its an r reg a few minor very light scratches not on bumpers , althoght it has 130k on it, still wouldn,t pay over 3k for one
