Better left as is, in my opinion.Originally posted by Albannach View PostAndy, change the registration details to hide your address
He is, in truth, doing the correct thing by publishing his info. That's the whole point of the WHOIS info, to provide relevant and specific information on the registrant. Obfuscating or providing stripped down info is an annoyance, in my opinion, and defeats the purpose and intent of the system.

Nah, I like to be secretive, especially when it's personal stuff. I suppose it may be different for a business.Originally posted by MattF View PostBetter left as is, in my opinion.

If Tesco want to re-brand to Dark Dezignz, they'll want your domain. If you hide your contact details, they can't find you (easily) to pay you the £5,000,000 fee to buy your domain.Originally posted by breakdowntruck2 View Postplz enlighten me matt, what is the point?as i'm cluelessDo you know that, with a 50 character limit, it's

It's not specifically due to it being business related. I just tend to be as pedantic about sticking to the standards and preferred practices and such as I am with certain other things.Originally posted by Albannach View PostNah, I like to be secretive, especially when it's personal stuff. It is there to provide info on the domain registrant, such as contact information and such. A lot of people, as Albannach mentions, do provide minimal, if any, information, but the preference is to supply as much information as possible. It's like an online telephone directory, (as a simplistic comparison).Originally posted by breakdowntruck2 View Postplz enlighten me matt, what is the point?as i'm clueless
If you really want to bore yourself silly, Wikipedia gives a fairly decent summary:
