We live in a Semi-detached house, our nieighbours are in council rented property, we keep getting 'cigarette smoke' drifting through from our fireplace (flue/chimney shared with neighbour) tonight the smell is definitely should I say more exotic than usual !!!, personaly I have no probs with smoking but when it impacts on our health (pasive smoke and all that ) I am getting worried

anyone had this problem or heard of any situations ?

There's fuk all you can do about it!

We get smells coming through from next door all the time, council won't do anything about it as we can't irrefutably prove where it's coming from.

There's something wrong with your chimney if it's coming down into your house. Get it swept, it's not drawing properly.

yes there is ways but its comes at a cost
other than that tell the dude next door you can smell errm the exotic type he will errm crap him self just in case ya call the cops or sumet

Light a big candle or several candles in your fireplace, that should carry everything up the flue.
If you are getting smells through from them, they are probably getting some of yours too. Have you asked them ?

It won't be coming from there, it'll be coming through gaps in the flooring etc. We smell next door the worst in the back lobby, toilet and stair cupboard. All the places the builders will have skimped on sealing the 2 houses.

they don't appear to be bothered about anybody least of all the local police ! She is the epitomy of the local space cadet ! I think the new boyfriend is supplying the latest shipment !

We converted to gas 30 years ago and the flue is connected to the hood over our gas fire we smoke bomb testsed it a few years ago when we fitted a new chimney vent etc no fault found

thanksfor the reply though !You could always call in with the Mustang and we could couple up the exhaust and give them a blast !
