      haha.
its mainly coz i wanted to keep the bars on as i like them. i guess i could always put them on my other surf.
what sort of strenght and practicallity do these bars have mate? are they any good for off roading or more of a just for show thing?
obviously your front end would be stronger than mine but do these bars work well at all or do they give in more than a full on bash plate? if they take a good knock will they push anything in underneath like the fixing brackets etc?

The Jaos bullbars are, in truth, a bit girly. Mine look a tad the worse for wear from just doing a simple push and shove with another vehicle, so a full on impact would probably decimate them.

ok fine ill take it off then and put it on her little sisters surf.

i just need some pics at some other front ends with their bash plates to decide.
Apache's is nice and solid but just not me looks wise.
im aslo looking to get a winch on the front aswell but i dont like the look of most of the "winch bumpers" out there. their too chunky and nasty looking.
i want a winch but not a winch bumper with it.
            if that makes sense?

                actually no.
ive seen in the past bash plates that look the nuts aswell as perform the nuts.
i.e other bash plates that are as strong and practical as yours but with different designs. dont take that the wrong way mate. i like your front but i dont "love" it.
im only after some pics of a few different setups or a few sites that sell or speacialise in them?

will we? you'll probably find that actually not many have, there's a handful, if that, floating around using apache's design or similar variations of. Then there's probably a few of the jaos or aiba works style ones as in your link, any other's i'm not too sure about.

The only other one i can think of was someone reinforced an original one with some box or angle bracing on the back of it a couple of years ago.

They are, just that most of us tend to stick with the originals as factory fitted to the surf's
