and if yr still set on it 118'(god knows why) i paint the beds of our flat beds, anti slip paint is v expensive so i use normal black gloss and add sharp sand, works a treat, but put it in a roller tray and add sand to that rather than than the tin, works well, takes atleast a day to dry tho

The right way to do it probably would be adding the sand to the paint.

How else are you going to get it to stay on the floor?!

I think its a bad idea myself mate.

it needs to be bone dry and washed to remove salt, paint doesn't like damp. H

hammerite/sand mix for the rased bits
timebond/sand mix for the lowed bits
so it needs to be black sand
i would prefure granet black sand so it will go tow tone if i do it right
anti slip too never smell again
                      and easy to clean

I'll be interested to see the results mate.

An unlikely person to say this I suppose George, but I like your plan. You can always carpet it later if you don't like it.

Anyway, as Matt says, black volcanic rock is called basalt, so that's the kind of sand you should be looking for.

Personally, I also think just pouring sand into black gloss is the way to go.

well at least it wasn't the 'put the sand in the petrol tank for more power and double the mpg' chestnut.

What are you doing with the wiring loom where that runs under the carpet? you do also realise that you'll be taking out every ounce of sound deadening and insulation the surf has aswell don't you?

If so and you still wanna do it, good on you mate, and it'll be interesting to see the results.

Pity the poor devil who ever needs to kneel on your Surf's floorpan however. Plus, you'd better pray you never slide off one of the seats.
