  • Anti roll bar disconnects

I thought I would show you my latest mod.
I have no idea how well they will work as I haven't put them on yet, but I see no reason why they wont.
I designed them so that they dont put any force on the release pin, its there just to act as the quick release part.
So using my old worn out links, I cut the ball joint off, ran an M10 die down (shank diameter is 10mm so is ideal)
I then used some high tensile steel (an M16 bolt) to make the part that attaches to the bar, and then an M12 cap head to turn a shouldered pin to mount through the rod end and into the female part. I then found some locking retaining pins laying around and drilled a hole through both parts to secure.
To disconnect I simply remove the retaining pin and withdraw the pivot.
    The pics explain the process...
The links complete with new Poly bushes from Milners...

    Close up assembled...

    Retaining pin removed...

    Pivot removed...

    Disconnected...

        nice job

Thats why I made them, running without the bar made it feel terrible! These will only be disconnected at pay and play sites.

            Re

I fitted some of the new poly bushes just today!

There were different from the old ones I took off because the older ones had 2 metal washer things, one for either side of the bush!

With these, I guess it is the bush that makes direct contact with the mount on the chassis!

The old ones were @orrible shrivelled up black things!

            I hope this is correct!

Anyhow, the reason I changed them was I kept hearing a "clunking" every time I went over a pothole etc., checked everything else so I guess I am hoping it is sorted now!

Didn't manage to get a test drive!

I got them off ebay from lezura, but they arrived with "Milners" on the package! LOL!
