Photo Editing Suite?

Hi guys. does anybody know of any good easy to use photo editing/arranging suites?
I've loads of photo's on the P.C., but need something snazzy to arrange them, that's..... a) cheap or free, and...... b) easy to use.
I thought I was being clever by downloading the free trial of Pro Show Gold, but if you want to burn your arranged pics (with backing tracks) you get an orange stripe across the middle saying demo version, or words to that effect. I've seen something like a home made album, with your piccies arranged randomly across the pages , that had one of your other piccies (distant view shots) as a background page if you know what I mean. Later developed by Jessups.Would also like to be able to 'burn' some on to dvd's for the lads.
Any budding David Bailey's out there?

Photoshop elements, not as complex as the full version and reasonably cheap, I dont use album software as its just another program running but you normally get something along these lines included in your camera software. H

You'll never get anything both Cheap and Snazzy. You may find several cheap things that, when combined, are pseudo snazzy?

Spend some dosh and buy some proper software, it'll be better in the end.

without a doubt Photoshop is the best editing software, but, it can take a while to learn.
Somewhere I have (had) a copy of Photoimpact that I won in a photography competition (it was luck ), I shall never use it as I use PS. If I can find it out you are welcome to it, just pay the postage.
Choice is yours, the offer's there if you want it.

elements is good and not too complicated....aparently, legaly for about £70

By the way these sugestions come from my son and yes he is a professional, being a photo shop manager and computer geek not from a mere heating engineer.
bear in mind software is like a pair of shoes, better if you are comfortable with it

Try Picassa its free and it does what it says on the tin....It does all the basic editing good for the average punter

That's what I would do, didn't sugget it as the OP seemed adamant that he wanted to do it in an editor.

I thought it was just me who seemed to be completely missing the point of the editor part. Each tool for a purpose, as they say.

p.s: The way you and I think is becoming uncannily similar of late.
