I know, i downloaded the rave cd and read it all through page by page. The rf aerial was uprated on the early 99's so less interference from rf signals and wireless routers etc. The heads are fine as long as the cooling system is serviced every 24,000 and mine has been done 3 times since new. Took it to jameson 4x4 (lrspecialist) and he loved it so i'm chuffed.

I was talking about the engine, all p38s have same suspension, v8 or diesel, so all need to be looked after the same way, as long as the bags, comp, valve block, and drivers are looked after they work great.
They are easily maintained but let things go and all hell breaks loose. Height sensors were replaced also which is what your gaffer prob suffered with. That or a dodgy spring. I got a lifetime warranty on my springs, they're the arnott gen 3 ones not the LR dunlop ones.

it was soooooo funny, leave it an hour, sits on deck, start and ns right up,only way to get offside up was to drive it/rev nuts off it,airbags were perished/leaking

Revving the nuts off it won't help as it has an air tank that the comp fills, the bags will only fill as fast as the flow rate of the solenoids. Mines got the arnott gen 3 replacements with lifetime warranty and goes from bump stops to full ride height in five seconds so one less prob to worry about. Thet are easy to work on too, i had a good old poke around the day i got it and want to start taking things off but nothing broke yet. fingers crossed.
