  • Sad day for me...

My little dog, Tipsy, died earlier today. She was a little yorkshire terrier/JackRussel crossbreed. She was 16 years old. Up until a few days ago she was full of life and very alert. But her heart was poor for the past few months. She was on a heart and fluid tab for the past 6 months.

I'm 31 and I've had her since she was a few weeks old. I can't remember her not being around me somewhere. She was the most nosey little dog ever, any time I was out working she was by my side and if I ever was working on the cars/surf, she was just sitting there watching everything.

    She died in my arms.

I'm gonna miss her so much.

Sorry to hear about your little dog, I to recently lost my dog, had to have her put down through bloat.
I know what it feels like, empty house and your all day & night shadow no longer following you around.

You've got all my sympathy mate. I've lost a few over the years but it never gets any easier - it's about the only thing that makes me cry.

Sorry to hear, never had dogs till I moved in with Linda. They are wonderful animals, I'm sure you have loads of good memories to remember.

Wish I'd read this earlier, would have waited a couple of days to post the pic of our dog in the Surf.

Sorry to hear that mate, when my German shepherd died I was heartbroken - he was my best friend, I said it then and I'll say it now, I miss him more than most of my relatives.

I'm so sorry Ciaran... I remember how I felt when my lab Gemma died. I grew up with her, and she was such a part of my life, it still makes me sad now.
Just try to remember the good times you had together...

                    Not Alone

M8 its gut wrenching i know but it gets better over time ( honest ).
I work all my dogs for shooting / vermin control etc and the bond i have with all of them is MASSIVE to say the least.
We had a brilliant Jack that run under the wheels of my range rover when i was working, killing your own dog leaves a real bad feeling, though there was nothing i could do about it.
I dread the day when my Spaniel and Flatcoat go as the rewards over the years they have given are priceless.
As for the other 2 Jacks ! that’s another story for another day.

Sorry to hear about that Ciaran. My fellas the same. He follows me around everywhere. I'd be devestated if anything happened to him. Dogs are better than kids IMO. All the best!

Sorry to hear about your loss Ciaran. I remember how I felt when Fred died, aged 17, but now I can get the photos of him out and remember the good times. He loved the snow and had a heart attack doing his favourite thing - digging in a snow drift.

Lady is now 15 years old and has good days and bad days. Sometimes its a job to dawdle round the block with her and other times she gambolls like a spring lamb. It'll be so hard when the inevitable happens.

                          Chin up mate.
                          It's only a hobby!

My sympathies mate, I feel similaritys with you all but mostly with Cockney, I had a brilliant Springer bitch, one of the best in Essex, never got made up in Field Trials but all the old boys 'in the know' at the Colchester Garrison test knew who won (and said so), anyway to cut it short the dog got i'll with bad guts and the vet tried (badly) to fix her but she relapsed after a few weeks, I hung on and hung on in hope but she died in my arms, it wasnt nice, it'll never happen again.
On a lighter note I had a white Jack that jumped over my shoulder and out of my van and under the front wheel but luckily it just broke her back leg, little terror still chased the rabbit with the three good un's
