Warning from DVLA

I had this come with a vehicle check :
DVLA is warning motorists to check the V5C when buying a used vehicle.Motorists are advised not to purchase the vehicle and indeed report the matter to the police, if the serial number falls within the following ranges:
BG8229501 to BG9999030
B12305501 to B12800000

yep, it's more of a notification that those numbers were never issued, rather than a warning that those numbers are being used by crooks from how i read it.

If those numbers were being used on fake documents and by ringers etc... they're not anymore.

Who looks at the serial number on a V5 ? You check the details and pray your not buying a bag of shyte but check serial numbers?
